Davana Essential Oil is primarily a perfume and flavoring oil. The scent is fruity and fresh with a hint of strawberry. Davana Oil also may help to relieve depression and anxiety as the scent is very comforting. As an anti–inflammatory, it makes great massage oil. It also is said to relieve restlessness, nausea, and cramps. Belonging to the daisy family, the Davana plant is around 40 meters in height with bluish green leaves and small yellow flowers. It can be used as an antiseptic, anti–depressant, and anti–viral. Davana flowers traditionally lend their intoxicating fragrance for garlands, floral decorations, bouquets and also for the various religious purposes.
It is considered an aphrodisiac, as well as an anti–anxiety agent, calming the brain and nervous system. Further, the oil is antimicrobial, considered effective for wound and tetanus care.
It may also be an aid at relieving pain in joint and muscles, employed with a carrier at 5% concentration. It is also thought to be an aid to skin care, and may be included in your skin care blends not only for its wonderful aroma, but for its ability to promote healthy, glowing skin.
Use Davana Oil in high quality perfumes, creams, and body oils. It is used often to flavor food and many references can be found for using Davana internally.
Note: Although remedial, people with major health ailments like cancer, or epilepsy should avoid use. Non–toxic, non–irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. Not to be used while pregnant. Moderately toxic, use in small amounts, can cause skin irritation, can be a mucous membrane irritant.
